Hi I’m Sabeena! My interest in mental health has always been built upon my deep-seated desire to help people better understand themselves and become the best version of themselves. I recognize that therapy can be a daunting step for many, and I strive to create a safe space where you feel genuinely heard. Together, we can identify the most effective methods to achieve your treatment and life goals.
My adventurous spirit led me to Australia, where I completed graduate school at the University of Melbourne. It also ultimately brought me to Alaska, where I’ve spent my free time being an avid hiker, shooting pool, singing karaoke, and taking road trips to enjoy the breathtaking landscapes. Professionally, I began my career in residential treatment, working at the Chris Kyle Patriot’s Hospital with Active Duty Military and First Responders. I then transitioned to working in Medical Hospitals, Corrections, and Private Practice. This diverse experience has broadened my insight into the complexity of mental health and what contributes to the individual experience. It also enabled me to witness significant growth and transformation, as well as recognize the importance of having a dependable person to speak with and seek advice from.
I’m formally trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I have professionally worked with clients facing depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, and complex or religious trauma. Every person’s story is unique. By providing education and guidance, I envision a therapeutic relationship where you feel supported and more confident in overcoming life’s challenges. My goal is to help you trust yourself more and recognize your greater potential.
